In October 1995, members of Pi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization named the Pi Omega Foundation.  In 2005 the name was changed to the Ivy Rose Foundation, Inc.   With education and serving the needs of mankind being top priorities of the Sorority, the Foundation was organized to receive and utilize donations, gifts, and grants from members and other organizations for charitable, educational, and scholarship purposes.   Although the name of the Foundation changed, the primary mission remains the same.  The Foundation uses fundraising activities and other funding sources:

  • To provide and promote educational and cultural activities for the Chattanooga communities;

  • To stimulate interest and create an awareness of the need to elevate the quality of life for the disadvantaged in this community;

  • To cultivate and promote education by providing scholarships to high school students; and

  • To encourage mutual improvement and good will throughout the community.
